Loving Jesus

"In this the love of God was manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He has loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4 v 9-10 (ESV)

All people are born separated from God by sin. Jesus Christ is God's Son come to earth as a man. He provided the answer for sin by dying on the cross and rising again three days later, taking the penalty for our sin so that we are able to be reconciled to God. The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ, it is all about Him; His birth, His life, His death, His resurrection, His ascension and His future return. Our response to this Man is the most important question we will ever face.

At City Church Chester our relationship with Jesus Christ is central. It is our desire that all we do is motivated not by a religious principle or philosophy but by our love for Him.

Jesus is the light of the world and by His grace through His Spirit His light stills shines through His church.

"Christ is the great central fact of the world's history. To Him everything looks forward or backward. All the lines of history converge upon Him. All the great purposes of God culminate in Him. The greatest and most momentous fact which the history of the world records is the fact of His birth."
C H Spurgeon
